CHALLENGE:
The Catalan Pyrenees, while rich in cultural and natural assets, faced limited international awareness beyond winter sport travel segments. The Catalan Tourist Board partnered with GLP to reposition the region as a model for sustainable, all-season, community-driven tourism—one that highlights authentic local stories and connects visitors with the real Pyrenean culture, beyond traditional tourist routes.
SOLUTION:
GLP Films created a comprehensive storytelling campaign filmed across every subregion of the Catalan Pyrenees to promote regional dispersal and showcase the area’s rich diversity of landscapes, cultures, and experiences. Embracing the region’s natural rhythm of slow travel—where winding mountain roads and scenic loops encourage unhurried exploration—the campaign captured authentic experiences ranging from guided nature walks that reveal local wildlife to workshops in locally sourced food and perfume making, alongside adventurous mountain activities balanced by slow, restorative moments like sharing craft beverages and regional cuisine at family-owned establishments. Important to the campaign was highlighting the voices of local community members speaking in their native language further reflecting the unique culture and heritage of the region. This immersive approach highlighted the variety and depth of sustainable, community-based experiences throughout the Pyrenees, inspiring travelers to connect meaningfully with the land and its people while supporting local livelihoods,.
